June 2021 TBR

I’ll admit it. When it comes to my reading life, I’m not generally much of a planner. But as I get back into book reviewing and borrowing books from the library, it feels like a little structure is in order to make sure I get to everything in a timely manner.

So many book bloggers and bookstagrammers have these TBR stacks and lists and plans. I have an ever-growing “want to read” shelf on Goodreads that I seldom actually consult before floating to whichever book is calling me on a given day.

Still, I’m going to give planning ahead a bit of a go so that I can read my library books before they’re due and get to my ARCs to keep that NetGalley feedback ratio looking sharp!

So, here are my reading plans for June!

Anticipated Releases

First off, I’m going to read Kerry Winfrey’s latest, Very Sincerely Yours, the instant it drops on my doorstep after the June 15th release date.

I also start each month very excited to pick my new Book of the Month, so I’m sure that book may creep into my reading plans if it’s a particularly thrilling one.

Library Books

My Libby shelf currently includes Sophie Kinsella’s Love Your Life, Virginia Kantra’s Meg & Jo, and Beth O’Leary’s The Flatshare.

Of these, I’m most excited to get to The Flatshare because I’ve heard so many good things about this book! I’m also generally a Sophie Kinsella fan, and that one is due up next, so I’ll probably choose this as my first read in June.

Meg & Jo is a modern retelling of Little Women, which I have never read and yet feel I probably would like a great deal. So, I’m digging into this modern twist to see how it goes. The sequel came out recently, which is how this book bubbled into my sphere of awareness.

Review Copies

My NetGalley shelf is filling up, as well. I’ve got a few lingering titles from back in 2018 when I was last a semi-active book blogger/reviewer, including Good Luck with That by Kristan Higgins.

I’ve also picked up Mary Kay Andrew’s The Santa Suit (releases September, 2021) which I may save for a Christmas in July type situation.

Audiobooks

A new LibroFM credit means new audiobooks! I’m going to pick up John Green’s The Anthropocene Reviewed and give it a go. I’ve heard good things, and I can’t resist a good nonfiction book narrated by the author, so here we are.

Also, if you’re into buying signed copies, apparently you can get one on Bookshop.org right now. Personally I only like a signed copy if I’ve actually met the author to get it signed, but it’s still pretty cool!

So there you have it, my best laid plans for June when it comes to books and reading. Is there anything you’re particularly excited to read this month? Have you read any of the books on my list? Let me know!

  1. This sounds like a great June TBR. I’m first in line for my library’s audiobook copy of Very Sincerely Yours so I’m waiting for pub day too! Love Your Life was the perfect escape read for me and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

    • Oh, excellent! I hope we both enjoy Very Sincerely Yours when it gets here!

I’m enjoying Live Your Life so far–it’s very funny, per usual with Sophie Kinsella!
