Happy Friday, book friends! Recently I started a practice of taking photos of Azula and I’s morning routine wherein I read and she either sleeps or chews on her bone while curled up next to me.

It seems to be a popular feature on my Twitter, so I figured, why not bring some of those snuggles to the blog? I love alliteration and so, I’ll be calling this Furbaby Friday. I was gonna go with Furry Friday, but, you know, that has… different connotations.

This week’s photo pick is from this morning. Azula does a lot of very cute cuddle curling in the mornings once she settles in, but I like this one because it shows her in her natural state–alert and active, deep in a task. In this case, chewing one of her far too numerous toys.

We adopted Azula a little over a year ago. She’s a little over 1.5 years old and is an Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd mix. Her default modes are hyper and snuggle, so she’s my running and reading buddy.
