Happy Friday from the most adorable reading buddy in my house, Azula (sorry, Andy, but we both know it’s true).
This week, Azula’s routine has been getting back to normal as I work my way back to being more physically active after COVID. Read: she got more walkies with both mom and dad.
Those walkies have been a bit slower than usual owing to my also getting back into kickboxing with a nice 20-minute reset program Kick it By Eliza has put out. In other words, my poor thighs are so sore!
She doesn’t know it yet, but this adventure pup is in for an active weekend, as we’re taking her hiking at a nearby park. If there’s one thing Azula loves almost as much as her ball and cuddle time, it’s hiking. So many sniffs and rocks to climb!
This week, I’ve been working my way through a traveling ARC of Kate Spencer’s In a New York Minute. I’m not sure if the final copy will be the same size, but this book is huge compared to a lot of paperbacks I’ve read in recent years. I am here for it because the font size is *chef’s kiss*

Plus, the wider pages are just the right size for a pup to rest her face on when she’s trying to convince me to let her eat her toy that I took away. No, I did not give in, but yes, it was a struggle.
Before we head off on our adventure, I’m going to load up my Kindle with a few of my recently acquired NetGalley ARCs and probably stuff a paperback or two in my bag as well, because you just never know what you’re going to read during those early morning couch cuddle hours.
We’ll be checking in soon from the other side of some hiking adventures, but until then, Azula and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for reading! Want to keep me in coffee and Azula in treatos? You can buy me a coffee.
