Furbaby Friday: Azula’s Week in Reading 4/1/2022

Hello and happy Friday, book friends! Happy first day of April and a very happy New Moon in Aries to you all, as well!

In case you missed it, I posted my usual best books roundup for the month of March and am enjoying reading everyone’s monthly reading recaps. I don’t know why, but these are my favorite posts to read, and I always get excited as the end of the month approaches. What can I say, I’m a monthly reflection nerd.

This week has been a bit of a low energy week as I had my first cycle in three months and my first pain flare along with it. That’s good news given that it means the treatment plan is working, but also… I have not missed cramps and chronic pain. Azula is the best nurse a girl could ask for, though, and loves to curl up close to me when she can sense I’m not feeling well, so there’s that!

Constant vigilance while I worked from the couch

I started a new book this week (The Summer Job) and a new audiobook, which is always exciting! Even if I’ve fallen off my “reading instead of social media” promise for the morning, I’m still getting reading done in the form of listening to The Fastest Way to Fall while making my morning coffee and prepping Azula’s treat hoggers for breakfast.

Speaking of Azula’s treat hoggers, I backed a Kickstarter for D20 treat hoggers ages ago, and Azula finally received her Pawlymorph Pets toy this week! Meal time feels a little more exciting watching her toss the bright green die around while getting her food.

This new toy is definitely a natural 20

I took a sick day on Wednesday when my pain was high, so the whole schedule of the week has felt off (hence, me not noticing it was finally Friday and being a bit late with the furbaby Friday update). Azula’s feeling it, too, since she didn’t get some of her regularly scheduled walks this week.

Thanks to the snow, I did my conversational pace run on the treadmill this week, which meant no run for Azula. Hopefully the weather will hold well enough for us to run together this weekend. If not, there’s always curling up on the couch with a good book and some snuggles in store instead.

How was your week, book friends? Let me know if you got any good reading in! Azula and I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead.
