Azula is starting to get an inkling that something weird is going on around here. On Thursday, she got to see Grandma and Grandpa, who are in town for Andy & I’s wedding. She also watched Andy & I pack our bags for the honeymoon with some degree of concern.
One of the bags I packed was, of course, my bag of books for the honeymoon! I always have to pack several options because you just never know what reading mood will strike you once you arrive at your vacation destination.

Other exciting happenings for Azula include finding a giant squeaky ball on a walk (yay) and comforting Mommy while she cried a lot for some reason on Tuesday.

You see, my dress hadn’t been touched for final alterations when I went to pick it up on Tuesday. As in, the seamstress just totally forgot and tried to suggest I’d come on the wrong day until she pulled out the dress with the pickup date clearly written on the bag, at which point she promised to do the alterations in four hours so I could pick it up later the same day.
Naturally, I was pretty concerned she’d botch the alterations and ruin my dress, which somehow feels like a massively huge deal four days before you get married. In the end, though, I have a dress. A dress that isn’t perfect but will definitely do. Not that Azula gets to know about that, since the seamstress’ dog’s hair is plenty of black fur for one wedding dress.
Thankfully, that’s been the biggest drama of the wedding planning process so far, and the rest of the week has felt strangely calm. Azula and I have continued to enjoy our morning ritual of sitting on the couch reading/chewing bone, respectively. As I write this, she is chewing away contentedly beside me.
This will be our (my) last update for a week, as I’ll be taking a break from the blog while away on my honeymoon, and Azula will have to update me on her week in reading once we get back. I hope you’ve had a wonderful week, and a fantastic next week, as well!
Oh noooooo I would have flipped my lid at the seamstress!! But it sounds like everything will work out, in the end. (The day of my wedding, I barely fit into my dress. It was a close thing. X_X Stress eating is REAL.) I wish you all the joy in your upcoming nuptials! Good luck, and have an awesome honeymoon!
Thanks so much!
Best wishes to you and your future husband. Enjoy the honeymoon. My dogs always get nervous when we’re packing up to leave too.
