Happy Friday, book friends! And a happy end to Mercury Retrograde for those who celebrate. I don’t know if I can blame it all on the planets, but the past few weeks have been hectic, and I’m a little bit hopeful that I’ll catch a break with Mercury going direct.

For a short week, this one felt pretty long. Andy I were both home Monday and Tuesday, which means Azula got plenty of extra attention and was very confused when I was gone again on Wednesday.
Not that getting to work on Wednesday was easy. I hopped in my car to go to work and… it wouldn’t start. Cue Azula being very confused that Andy and I were out in the yard together trying to figure out what was going on. Thankfully, it turned out to just be an issue with the battery, and Floyd is back in business.
Wednesday night, Andy & I ran a 5K in celebration of Global Running Day, and my body was zero percent ready for that. It was an evening trail race, though, so I can’t complain too much. Azula can, since she missed out on a few good hours of evening snuggles and had to wait for a later dinner.
Today, summer Fridays at work begin and I get off at 1pm. I’m excited for the extra reading time to soak up the sun and/or hang out in a coffee shop with a good book.
Hope you’ve had a good week and a great weekend ahead!
What a respectful workplace to get off early on Summer Fridays! I’m sure that Azula will be most happy to see you! Thanks for sharing.
Yeah it’s a nice perk of working in higher ed! I don’t get all summer off like full faculty but I’ll take it lol
I hope you have a great weekend, and that Azula gets plenty of cuddles!
Azula is such a wonderful watchdog. I just can’t imagine running a 5k in the middle of the week. Well done!!
I hope Azula gets lots of cuddles on the weekend. Congrats on the 5K! I am impressed. Enjoy your reading time with those extra hours you got in, Amanda.
