Happy Wednesday, book friends! It has been a busy work week already, and we’re only about halfway there. I’ve barely gotten to touch my book because it’s been go, go, go during the workday with plans every evening. Have those plans all been TTRPG related in some way? Perhaps.
On the bright side, my workplace has opted to give us this coming Monday off in honor of Juneteenth, so I’m looking forward to a long weekend of relaxing with a good book. Or two. Or three.
I did manage to get a bit of reading done over the weekend before the hectic workweek kicked in, so let’s check in on what’s new since last week!
(Full disclosure: This post uses Bookshop.org affiliate links. Book titles with an asterisk were received as complimentary review copies in exchange for my honest review).
Recent Reads
I finished The Once and Future Witches late last week, and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be adding the author’s other books to my TBR, because holy heck was this a beautifully written masterpiece. It’s one of those books I loved so much, I’m not sure I can even review it — what would I say, besides general arm-flailing?
In the spiritual / self-help realm, I finished Spells for Good Times*, which was an interesting collection of rituals and spells meant to bring positivity into your life. I did manage a review of that one, which you can check out here: Invite Light into Your Life with “Spells for Good Times”
Current Reads
I’m still working my way through Radiance Rituals*, one week at a time. This week I’m supposed to schedule in my self-care rituals, which I have definitely, 100%, for sure done. I’m still going strong with the couple of minor adjustments I made to my beauty routines during week one and I feel like you can tell a difference in how healthy my skin looks.
I’ve also started Witchcraft Therapy: Your Guide to Banishing Bullsh*t and Invoking Your Inner Power. It has a fun, casual tone that I’m (mostly) enjoying, but so far it’s pretty much review of things I already know. I’m only about 30 pages in, so we’ll see!
In the land of fiction, I’m back to romance with Nora Goes Off Script*, which I’m really enjoying. In a less busy time, I’d definitely have read it in a day or two. I’m also quite pleased with myself because it’s one of my NetGalley titles, which means I’m slowly building that feedback ratio.
I’ve also started listening to By The Book on audio, though I don’t quite think I’m back in an audiobook mood yet since I keep opting for podcasts instead, despite enjoying the book fairly well so far. This is a Read Harder challenge pick for me, for the prompt “fairytale retelling by a POC.”
Up Next & On to You
Exactly one of the book clubs I’ve attempted to join has a meeting date in the calendar, so it looks like I’ll be picking up Book Lovers in the next week or so. I’ll be honest, it feels a bit weird not to be reading it in a cabin in the woods like I did People We Meet on Vacation. Is it too late to run away for a weekend before the book club meets? Hmm…
I’m definitely feeling reading for something different in the nonfiction category, so will probably pick up something less witchy and more… something else, when I finish Witchcraft Therapy. Not sure what yet, but I’ve got a whole TBR cart shelf dedicated to nonfiction so I’m sure I’ll find something.
That’s it for me this week, book friends. What are you reading this Wednesday, and how is it treating you?

I recommend The Ten Thousand Doors of January for your next Harrow book!!
Ooo, noted! Thank you!
It’s interesting to see what fellow book bloggers are reading! I hope you enjoy Book Lovers as much as I did, despite not being in a cabin in the woods!
You have some good book to read. I really enjoyed Nora Goes Off Script and Book Lovers. I’d prefer to read all my books in a cabin in the woods!
