Top 5 Tuesday: Books with Shields

Another book cover scavenger hunt for this week’s Top 5 Tuesday! Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their blog to get the details and the prompts for each week.

This week, we’re looking for books with shields on the cover. Let’s see how we do!

Lioness Rampant by Tamora Pierce

When I think books with swords and shields, Tamora Pierce is my go-to. This is the final book in the Song of the Lioness series and features a fully-fledged knight with her sword and shield.

Well Matched by Jen DeLuca

I checked the covers of all three books before finding that this one features a shield in the design.

This week’s topic was extra challenge mode because Googling it didn’t really help, pulling up a lot of magazines with Brooke Shields on the cover rather than books. I even tried looking up the covers of various Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfnider rulebooks, but they’re far more sword and magic heavhy than shield-wielding, apparently.

So, these are the ony two I could come up with. I’m confident I’ll be shaking my head when I see what everyone else includes on their lists.
