Top 5 Tuesday: Books on my NetGalley Shelf

Happy Tuesday, book friends! Yesterday was one of those super-long Mondays after a holiday break, where the workday just kind of… kept going. Yet somehow, when I woke up this morning, I was astonished to realize it was Tuesday and time for another Top 5 Tuesday post!

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their blog to get the details and the prompts for each week. This week’s prompt is a freebie!

So, I decided to go through the five books from my NetGalley shelf that I’m most excited to get to in the near future. This is also where I unfortunatey reveal how far behind I am in reading my digital arcs, as several of these books are actually out already at this point. Huge thank you to all of the publishers and to NetGalley for these digital review copies.

The Holiday Trap by Roan Parrish (Out September 6th, 2022)

Holiday house swap with a love story? Count me in. Hoping to get to this one as part of my holiday TBR stack.

The Quarantine Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot (Out March 28th, 2023)

Do I even need a synopsis here? It’s the latest Princess Diaries book, full of new diary entries from Mia Thermapolis.

Just My Type by Fallon Ballard (Out February 7th, 2023)

Writers with a rivalry, who also happen to be former lovers? Yes, please. Even though I’m not much for a second chance romance, this one promises a lot of tension as they’re each tasked with writing a series of articles about their dating lives.

Life Ceremony by Sayaka Murata (Out July 5th, 2022)

I loved Convenience Store Woman so I couldn’t resist the chance to grab this collection of short stories by the same author. I’m waiting to feel ready for the creepy, borderline horror vibes, since Earthlings took a lot out of me. I know this collection will be great, when I get to it.

What’s Eating Us: Women, Food, and the Body Anxiety Epidemic by Cole Kazdin (Out March 7th, 2023)

If the title didn’t win me over, the first line of the synopsis sure did: “Blending personal narrative and investigative reporting” is my favorite way to learn a thing. This will be a difficult book, I’m sure, since it looks at disordered eating and body anxiety, but I’m interested to read more on this subject that has a huge impact on me and many of the people I know and love.

Looking at my NetGalley shelf is always a bit overwhelming, so it’s nice to pause and look at the five titles I most want to get to in the near future. Do you have any books you’re excited to read soon?
