Happy Monday, book friends! Tis the season of holiday sales, and every now and again I can’t help but be tempted. Book Outlet had an extra discount going on for Black Friday, and I snagged a few books that I’ve been eyeing for a while. They showed up on my doorstep this past week, along with one review copy. Naturally, that means we’ve got another Book Mail Monday on our hands!
HausMagick: Transform Your Home with Witchcraft by Erica Feldmann
I fell in love with HausWitch during a visit to Salem several years ago, and I’ve debated about buying this book for a long time. I’m not the best when it comes to household maintenance, so the idea of using my living space to create magic makes me about as anxious as the words “interior design.” But when I saw it on sale, I knew the time to check it out had at last arrived.
Modern Tarot: Connecting with your Higher Self Through the Wisdom of the Cards by Michelle Tea
Our spare room is chock full of books on Tarot, yet it never quite feels like I have enough of them. I love using the Tarot as a personal reflection tool, so this book has always seemed perfect for me. Now, I’m finally about to find out.
Witches of America by Alex Mar
I cannot resist an investigative memoir, particularly one that’s billed as a journalist seeking her own spirituality and choosing to deep dive into the history of witchcraft to do so.
The Wife App by Carolyn Macker* (Out June 27th, 2023)
One of these things is not like the other here, and that’s because this one is an advanced reader copy (thank you, Simon & Shuster!). Possibly my first physical ARC for 2023 releases (but don’t quote me on it). This is the story of three women who decide to start an app to try and monetize the type of thankless work often handed off to wives, and I’m definitely curious to see how that goes.
That’s it for me, book friends! Any new books hit your physical or digital shelves this week?
I saw that Macker book. It’s been a bit since I read some of her YA books, but I am curious and this sounds great.
This will be my first from her, and I think the premise could go either way for me. Definitely an intriguing one!
I got some great gifts to give during this sale! I hope you enjoy these all!
HausMagik looks really interesting. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it.
