Book Mail Monday 12/12/2022

Happy Monday, book friends! I had a busy weekend but a very restful Sunday, curled up with Azula and my Kindle for most of the day, I’m feeling refreshed and ready to take on the last week of the semester.

Last week, I had a few bookish items show up on my doorstep. A few of them were not for me, so they’ll be hidden away until they reach their new homes. But of course, a few goodies came for me, too.

Book-wise, it was all about Well Traveled, which I preordered. Twice.

This is the third or fourth time I’ve accidentally preordered the same book more than once due to forgetting I’d already bought it. In this case, I had to go in for the preorder campaign when Jen DeLuca announced it (stickers! a signed copy!), but didn’t realize I’d preordered the book from Bookshop.org basically the moment that was an option.

As much as I don’t totally mind having an extra copy to give away on Bookstagram or in my Little Free Library, I am making a goal to create a system in 2023 where I can track my preorders so I only wind up with two copies of anything on purpose.

Also on my doorstep this week was the 2023 edition of the Always Fully Booked planner from Little Inklings Design. I use a Passion Planner for my regular planning needs, but I love the idea of having a book-specific planner, so I couldn’t resist getting another one this year. I didn’t use it super consistently in 2022, but I’m hopeful that it will be different in 2023. Isn’t that always how we feel about a new year?

Another item I forgot ordering showed up, too. I saw these tarot-inspired candles from Authentic Books, bought them immediately, then had no idea what the package on the porch was until I opened it. But look how cute they are! I can’t wait to use them in way too many book pics because isn’t “The TBR Stack” just the perfect book lover candle?

Do you like a good bookish candle? I certainly have more than I know what to do with, and hope to actually burn them more often this winter so they don’t have to live in my closet.
