Happy Tuesday, book friends! It’s back to work for me today, so I’m trying to get back into my regular routine after the holiday break. That means waking up at 5am instead of 6am, and boy does that feel like a difference this morning.
Tired or not, I’m excited for the first Top 5 Tuesday of 2023! Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their blog to get the details and the prompts for each week. This week’s prompt is “top 5 anticipated reads for Jan-March.”
The Man I Never Met by Elle Cook
My first read of 2023, which is an advanced review copy that’s been sitting on my shelf for a bit. This is a wrong number romance where the would-be couple meet via a wrong number phone call, and I’ve been looking forward to reading it for quite some time.
Well Traveled by Jen DeLuca
I am so eager to get to this next installment in the Ren Faire romance series!
The Business of Being a Writer by Jane Friedman
Since I’m leaving my full time job this month to pursue writing as a career, I’ve grabbed this book about the business of writing from Jane Friedman. I’m going to dive in once I wrap up my current job and look forward to learning a bit more about the business side of being a writer.
The Quarantine Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
Need I explain? I have an ARC of this one (it comes out in March of this year) and can’t wait to get to it!
Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood
I still can’t fully believe I haven’t read this one yet, but I just didn’t get around to it last year. I’ll definitely be picking it up soon!
I’m sure I’ll read many more books between now and March, but these five are top of mind for me as of this moment in time. What are your anticipated reads for the start of the year?
Looks like a great list AmandaKay. Wow, I did not know you were going to pursue writing full time. Best Wishes for your new endeavour!
Thank you! It’ll be an interesting new journey for me this year. 🙂
OMG! You’re going into writing full-time. How exciting! Best of luck with that. I liked The Man I Never Met. It was heavier than I thought it would be, but good.
Thank you! It’s a big change but I’m ready for it. Glad to hear you liked the book!
Great post, and Happy New Year!
I never heard of The Man I Never Met, but it sounds interesting. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! I haven’t read Love on the Brain yet, but definitely a book I hope to pick up at the bookstore this year.
There are like so many books I hope to read this year. Some of the books at the top of my list to read are: The Shadow & Bone series because I really want to watch the show but I want to read the series first, Lessons in Chemistry, and The Maid. I made a list of books I hope to read in 2023 months ago, but I’m a mood reader so who knows if I’ll actually stick to that list, lol.
That’s awesome that you’re pursuing a career in writing! Good luck with everything!
I’m also a mood reader so I know how it goes! I hope you love Lessons in Chemistry as much as I did!
You have some great reads ahead of you. I really like The Man I Never Met, it’s unique and fun.
Glad to hear it! I’m liking it so far, for sure
I loved Well Traveled and Love on the Brain. I hope you enjoy all of these. 🙂
