Hello and happy Friday, book friends! We are officially one week away from closing on our new house, which means this is our final weekend of peace before we move. I’ve got plenty of packing to do, but I’m hoping to get some good reading downtime in as well.

It was more or less business as usual this week, with plenty of dog walks and morning cuddles. We had D&D on Wednesday, which I think was very welcome nap time for Azula as she adjusts to the fact that I’ve been taking her for a lunch walk in addition to her morning and evening ones.

Reading wise, I finished True Biz, which was really good but did seem to end a bit abruptly in my opinion. I am now finally digging in to Just My Type*. I’m enjoying it so far, but I’m just about five chapters in.

For once, I am actually watching a bit of TV here and there since I have much more free time on my hands. I know many fellow book bloggers recap what they watched in the week, but I typically don’t have anything to report! However, I’ve been keeping up with season 2 of How I Met Your Father on Hulu. I’m not sure if it’s actually a very good show, but I do love Hillary Duff and it’s fun to have a weekly release to look forward to. This week guest starred Meghan Trainor, which was pretty fun.

I also caught the two-episode premiere of Not Dead Yet starring Gina Rodriguez and Hannah Simmone (from Jane the Virgin and New Girl, respectively). It’s about a writer who gets put on the obituary beat and starts seeing the ghosts of the people she’s writing about, which is very much my kind of show. Looking forward to following this one week to week as well.

In Case You Missed It

This week on the blog, we had…

That’s it for this week! I hope you had a great week and that you’ve got an exciting weekend ahead!

  1. Crunch time! Good luck with packing/closing. Hope all goes smoothly. Your dog is living the live. Who wouldn’t love extra walks? I adore Ballard’s books. Hope you continue to enjoy Just My Type.

  2. Great post!

I really liked the first season of How I Met Your Father. I haven’t tuned into the latest season yet though. I saw the first episode of Not Dead Yet. Cute show, definitely plan on watching more episodes. I found out the show is based on a book, and me loving book adaptations was almost tempted to read the book first and then watch the series, but I decided I’d skip the book this time and just watch the show, lol.
