The time has come! I can finally stop writing about how I’m dreading our move because WE DID IT. We’re moved into the new house and almost all of the important stuff is unpacked.
My bookshelves are nice and full again, and I even have some extra space I get to look forward to filling since the previous owners left behind a pretty large bookshelf.
Perhaps not surprisingly, I didn’t get a lot of reading done during the move itself or over the last few days while unpacking. Thank goodness for audiobooks, at least. Still, I’ve got a few updates to dish out, so let’s dive in.

Recent Reads
I finally finished Initiated: Memoir of a Witch, which has been my morning nonfiction read for what feels like ages. It took me a while because the book isn’t really what I expected and has some quite heavy sections. I’ve got a review lined up to go up at some point in the near future, so I’ll save my full thoughts for that.
Current Reads
On audio, I’m still working my way through Clare Pooley’s The Authenticity Project. I’m nearing the halfway mark and am definitely interested to see where things go and who else we get to meet along the way! The structure of this one is pretty fun with the little notebook making its rounds and introducing us to new characters as they come into contact with it.
I haven’t really made any progress on The Friendship Breakup* since last week, which isn’t surprising given everything else that’s been going on. I read a bit further on last night, and I’m quite intrigued by the mystery of the friendship ghosting.
For my morning nonfiction read, I’m digging in to HausMagick by HausWitch owner Erica Feldmann. When I visited Salem a few years ago, I fell in love with the vibe inside HausWitch and would love for my home to have a simlar feeling to it.
HausMagick is all about how to make your living space more intentional and magical, which feels timely as we unpack and set up our new home. It is a gorgeous book with lots of beautiful full color photos throughout, so I’m enjoying the reading experience very much even though I’m still in the introductory bits right now.
Up Next & On to You
Having my TBR unpacked and back in the book cart is a reminder of just how many great books I’ve got lined up to read soon! I think I am going to read The Quarantine Princess Diaries* as my next fiction read since it comes out in March.
What about you, book friends? What have you been reading lately, and how is it treating you?
Congratulations on your new home! I’m so glad the move went well and you got some bonus bookshelves. Now to relax and be able to read!
Thanks so much! It felt so good to settle down for some reading time last night, for sure!
I’m so happy for you that the move went well, AmandaKay, and another bookshelf, what a bonus! Have a great week and I hope you get back into your routine. I hope Azula is settling in well.
Thank you! She’s doing pretty well and we’re getting settled for sure.
Great to hear you are moved in, and how wonderful that the previous owners left a bookshelf. That’s serendipitous. I had my eye on The Friendship Breakup. Can’t wait to hear what you think
Thank you!
Congratulations on being all moved in! I’ve spent my life packing and unpacking and I figure I’ve moved over 30 times, and I know how hard it is! Pro tip: It doesn’t get any easier!
Thank you! Moving is definitely a challenge, but it does feel good to get to start fresh and set up the space in a new way!
Yay for a successful move! I always love filling empty bookshelves.
