Happy What We’re Reading Wednesday, book friends! Here we are at the last Wednesday of March, about to head into April. Soon, I’ll be sitting on our porch swing with a book in hand.
For now, though, I am still on the couch under the blankets with Azula tucked up next to my legs. Cozy, comfy reading vibes.
After a bit of a pause last week, I’m back in a steadyish reading groove. Still can’t focus on an audiobook, but that’s okay — I’ll be ready for them when I’m ready for them. Let’s hop into the updates for this week!

Recent Reads
I finished Lina Chern’s Play the Fool. There was a lot to like in this debut mystery, but also a few stumbling blocks. I’ve got a mini review up, if you’re curious to know more.
I had way too much fun posing that book photo, by the way. I adore the bright colorful neon cover design, and knew I just had to fish through several Tarot decks for their versions of the Fool.
Current Reads
I started Rachel Lynn Solomon’s Weather Girl, which has been hanging around on my TBR shelf for ages. I’m really enjoying it so far — it’s one of those books where the writing pulled me in from page one. Plotwise, the momentum is a bit slow, but I can feel something building, so we’ll see how we go.
Still dragging myself through Witches of America in the mornings. The book is definitely different to what I expected, in that it deals with a very specific and secritive sect of witchcraft I hadn’t heard of before reading. Still, I’m curious enough to keep going, even if I don’t always love the tone of the book. I will finish it, if only to see where we wind up, but I did hope for a more comprehensive overview of different traditions in a book with such a broad-sounding title.
Up Next & On to You
I am having so much trouble deciding on my next reads lately. I finish a book and then just sort of stare aimlessly at my TBR, both the physical one and my Kindle shelf. It’s one of those phases where I can’t quite put my finger on what mood I’m in, reading wise. Suffice it to say, I’ve no idea what I’ll wind up picking up next!
What about you, book friends? What have you been reading lately, and how is it treating you?
I go through occasional reading slumps too. I hope that you can start to listen to audiobooks again soon. I can’t wait for patio reading too!
I can’t wait for patio reading. I hope you enjoyed weather girl! I read it a while back and loved it.
I cannot wait for patio reading too!! The cold weather just keeps holding on. Sometimes with slumpy moods, I just pick some random books and read the first few sentences and see if anything picks my interest.
My WWW!
That’s not a bad idea! I might try that when I finish this book if I’m still feeling slumpy!
I hope it works out! It sometimes helps. 🙂
I remember liking Weather Girl overall, though the mental health part overtook the romance for me at one point. I hope it continues to be a great read for you
Thank you!
I can’t wait to get outside to read in the sun. Not happening yet, we had flurries today. 😢😢 I enjoyed Weather Girl and hope it continues to be enjoyable for you, Amanda.
We had flurries today, too, which was a real shame after a few warm days. Hope it warms up for you soon!
I really enjoyed Weather Girl, I’m glad you are too.
I’ve been struggling to decide what to read too, which is bad because I have so many ARCs to read. I just haven’t really been in the mood to read them.
Oh do I know the feeling! Hope it gets better for you soon!
