Happy Tuesday, book friends! The birds are chirping, Azula chased a bunny out of the yard this morning, and it’s time for the first Top 5 Tuesday of April!
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their blog to get the details and the prompts for each week. This week, we’re taking a look at the new book releases we’re most excited about for this next quarter of the year.
Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld (out April 4th)
I haven’t read all of Sittenfeld’s catalog, but I loved Eligible. I’m excited to see where Sittenfeld goes in this take on the rom com. It’ll be a bit before I get my copy, since I chose it for my April Authentic Books box and they don’t ship until the end of the month.
Games & Rituals* by Katherine Heiny (out April 18th)
Heiny is one of the few authors whose short stories I’ve read. I tend not to be much of a short story collection kinda gal, but I love her writing and look forward to this collection. Many thanks to NetGalley and Knopf for the eARC of this one!
Happy Place by Emily Henry (out April 23rd)
Need I explain?
Quietly Hostile* by Samantha Irby (out May 16th)
I’ve enjoyed Irby’s previous essay collections, so of course I’m excited for a new installment! Stoked to have a digital ARC of this one, thanks to NetGalley and Vintage.
Same Time Next Summer* by Annabel Monaghan (out June 6th)
I loved Nora Goes Off Script and can’t wait to see how this next book from Monaghan is! I’ve got an eARC of this one as well from NetGalley (thank you, G.P. Putnam’s Sons!).
And there we have it, my top 5 anticipated reads for the next few months. Will I read them all anywhere close to release date? Probably not, but so it goes! Side note: is pink the book cover color of the spring 2023 season in publishing, or did I just happen to pick a lot of pink books?
What books are you most looking forward to in the coming months?
I am mainly here to say I love that you named a pet Azula.
Haha, thank you! I always say it fits her a little too well sometimes
Wonderful and exciting reads. Now it really feels like spring!
I hope you enjoy these!
I already have a hold for Happy Place. I am long time fan of Henry’s, and I adored Monaghan’s last adult book and her digit series. Hope you love them all
I bet there’s a long hold line for Happy Place! Hope you enjoy it when you get to it!
Happy Place is on my TBR too. I also have an ARC for Same Time Next Summer as well.
Hope we both enjoy them!
I also enjoyed Nora Goes Off Script. I’m looking forward to Same Time Next Year.
Hope we both enjoy it!
