What We’re Reading Wednesday, April 5th

Happy first Wednesday in April, book friends! I’ve been reading a good bit yet somehow not making a ton of progress on any one book these last few days.

I feel a bit restless, the spring energy encouraging me to go outside and move around rather than sit still with a good book. Azula is feeling restless too, whining to go outside and play far more often than she has since she was younger.

Nevertheless, on Wednesdays we talk about books, so let’s dig in to the reading updates!

(Full disclosure: This post uses Bookshop.org affiliate links. Books marked with an asterisk were received as complimentary review copies.)

Recent Reads

I haven’t finished any new books since last week. I did watch the entire first season of Wellmania on Netflix, which is (loosely, I’m guessing) based on a book of the same name that I definitely want to read.

Current Reads

I’m still working my way through Weather Girl and have sort of lost momentum with it. I don’t think it’s the book’s fault, just a bit of a slump, but I never really feel drawn to picking it back up.

Meanwhile I chug along with Witches of America every morning and am so, so close to finishing it. I can’t wait for it to be over but feel compelled to finish it. I have a little over 20 pages left, so I should be done by the next WWRW. There’s a rant about book marketing and false promises brewing in me about this one, so we’ll see how the review goes if I wind up writing one.

Up Next & On to You

It’s that time of year where I’m a bit overwhelmed at all the new books coming out that I want to read! My copy of The London Seance Society is making its way towards me, and I have so many great books on my TBR cart. I think I’ll read something outside the romance genre next, as that seems to be where my mood is at lately, but we’ll see which book it winds up being.

What about you, book friends? What have you been reading, and how is it treating you?
