Happy Friday, book friends! I’m writing this post a bit later than usual because I woke up with a migraine. I think I’m officially “weather changes give me a headache” years old, because the sudden shift towards windy rainy weather seems to have done me in. A few hours of napping, Skyrim, and puppy cuddles later, I’m feeling at least a bit more human.

This week has been a pretty good one. I’ve been enjoying my current read, Games and Rituals. I also redid my nails so they’re a much more workable length now, and I can type at full speed again. Remind me that no matter how cute the witchy nails are, I am not a person who can handle superlong ones. I need my typing powers at full strength!

On Wednesday, I went in to the city to have dinner and see a show with a friend, which was my first big solo outing with the new car. I only spent a little while lost in the parking garage trying to find my super distinctive blue Chevy Bolt, so… a good time all around. The show was hilarious and left me in a good mood, which is also a plus.

Tomorrow, Mr. Your Book Friend and I will be headed into the city again to visit some memorable locations from our relationship in celebration of our anniversary. We’re going to grab coffee at the shop where we had our first date, get cupcakes from the bakery that made our wedding cake, stop by the park where he proposed, and have lunch at one of our favorite neighborhood spots from the old house. It will be a nice tour down memory lane.

Azula had a pretty good week as well, with plenty of outside time and walkies. Right now, she’s curled up and hunkered down due to all the wind and rain making her realize today is a day for naps.

In Case You Missed It

That’s it for this week, book friends! I hope you had a decent week and a great weekend ahead.

  1. Happy Anniversary and enjoy your trip down memory lane, it sounds like a wonderful “date”. The cold and windy weather is not welcome here either, so just stay warm and hunkered down, smart Azula. Have a great week, Amanda.
