Happy Monday, book friends! I managed to go to Barnes & Noble and Half Price Books this weekend without buying even one book, which is frankly a massive accomplishment. I’ve got so many books on my TBR cart and in my Kindle library that I just know I won’t actually get around to reading any new books any time soon, so I resisted. But it was tough.
That said, it has been a while since I’ve done an update from my NetGalley shelves, and I definitely have picked up a few new books since last time. So it’s time for another NetGalley edition of book mail monday!
The Witching Year: A Memoir of Earnest Fumbling Through Modern Witchcraft by Diana Helmuth
This is yet another witchy memoir in my eternal quest to find a witchy memoir that resonates with me. I was ecstatic when I read the synopsis for this one and audibly gasped when I got the approval email (Thank you, Simon Element!). Did I mention the comps are AJ Jacobs and Mary Roach? Um, yes please! I have high hopes that this will be the witchy memoir that finally rings my bells. I’m trying to wait to read it until closer to its release date of October 3rd, but we’ll see how long I can resist.
Maybe Once, Maybe Twice by Alison Rose Greenburg
I enjoyed Greenburg’s previous book, Bad Luck Bridesmaid, even if I disagreed that it was a romance novel. So, I was excited to be offered the chance to read this next book early. It follows a woman who made that age-old “If we’re both unmarried by 35…” pact with two different men. And they both show up around her 35th birthday, ready to cash in. With a premise like that, how can you not be excited to read this one?
I think those are my new additions since the last update! I’ve been trying not to request too many so I can get the old feedback ratio up, but some books look just too good to resist.
Are there are any recent additions to your bookshelves that you’re excited to read? Let me know!
